Chanazukuru

The members of Chanazukuru are based out of Vancouver B.C. Canada and have their origins in Zimbabwe, Korea, Canada and the United States. Kurai Mubaiwa who is a native Zimbabwean and now resident of Canada has been involved with music since he was a young child. Growing up with his tribal elders singing and playing various traditional instruments, Kurai tapped into his ancestral musical talent and began singing and dancing for his fellow tribesmen at the age of six. His goal is to keep his Ancestral heritage alive through the education of his music. Chanazukuru play Traditional Zimbabwean Dance Rhythms as well as a fusion of contemporary African Jazz and Afro-Cuban Dance.
